My question is, does anyone know or have heard of the differences between the two???
I have been on both the Mentor and Natrelle site charts, and some of the Natrelle Styles (in particular Style 10) has an implant that might work better for me. It has a much wider implant for my 13cm BWD, but I would get the same projection and wouldn't have to go up in that or get too many cc's to decrease my gap.

there are only 2 differences:
- the dimensions are different-- one brand may work better than the other based on width and projection
- the shell thickness. Natrelles have a thicker shell than mentors. While this means they're a little bit sturdier than mentors, the shell is also more obvious to the touch if there is very little breast tissue.
that's about it. |

| One other difference is in the warranty. Both companies replace two implants for 10 years. After that, Mentor continues to warranty and replace two, Allergan only replaces one. This is what I was just told in an office a few days ago and I have heard this before. I haven't verified it with Mentor yet. |

yes that's true but only if you pay the $100 extended warranty. |

So how much more "obvious to the touch" are the Natrelles? I'm pretty sure that is what my PS is going to use on me tomorrow (at least that's the brochure she gave me). I don't have much in the way of existing tissue. Is this an issue I should raise at this late date (i.e., is there a big difference)? |

not a big difference, no. but if you have both in your hands, you can tell which is which.
i have a set of Natrelles at home that I bought from a woman here who switched her implants out. they feel a bit firmer than the mentor silicones i have touched, but if you don't have both in front of you to tell the difference, the difference is REALLY minimal. you'd be fine with either. |

| Natrelle is also offering the free warranty through year-end. I have Natrelle's and got the free warranty. I am still only 7 weeks post-op so I can't tell you how much I can feel them. I am starting to be able to feel them in the crease, but just a little. |

| I pulled out my stuff to double check. It says that if you elect to have surgery between 6/1/09 and 12/31/09 with Natrelle Gel breast implants that you are automatically enrolled in the ConfidencePlus Premier Warranty Program. See full details in Terms and Conditions at www.CPPwarranty.com. |

| My goodness. So much to learn! Will your PS explain a lot of this to you? (not YOU, I mean ME) |

they generally really do not go into all this detail. you have to do your own research.
most will tell you about THEIR procedures, your recovery and your post-op instructions, and some just barely brush on any of these points and tell you just what you need to know.
most of what we over here know, we know from doing our own research. surgeons kind of suck like that. |

not 100% sure about Natrelle but if it's anything like Mentor, once you get your implant card you go to their website and register your implants to get the warranty. takes 2 minutes. |
