Almost 2 years ago I had a redo to go bigger and get silis.
The negatives outweigh the positives now that I actually have the huge boobs.
Neg:
It's the most difficult thing for me to find bras that fit with these large boobs and my small rib cage. It's nearly impossible to find cute clothes in a size small that fit these huge jugs!
I have submuscular placement and can't stand the muscle distortion. I never wear low cut shirts or triangle top bikinis in public because of this :0( I think one of my muscles is oddly placed because it squeezes my right breast in an odd spot compared to my left (it's very noticeable and looks like a double bubble thing, but towards my cleavage area).
I also live in fear that I'll get symmastia because I have so much cleavage! In certain bras I feel like I'm seeing skin raise up. *Part of my choice for a redo was to gain more cleavage! Ha, shoot me!
Ugh, and I feel sore quite often and pretty much live in sports bras!
I did love these big ol' boobies, but now I find myself wishing I would have left my small real boobs alone.
Pos:
I love how curvy I look and I will definitely miss that if I go smaller.
I made an appt. to speak with my surgeon and I'm hoping to speak with another as well. I almost feel embarrassed going back there.
I have so many questions about going smaller, but I'll save those for another thread. I just needed to vent right now.
Thanks!

Hey girl
i'm sorry you're unhappy with your size. Not that you care, but I may just learn something from you! We have very similar stats and I'm getting a redo on Oct. 2nd to switch to sils. I was considering 500's but seeing your thread, I'm thinking I won't go that big. Yours look AMAZING but i totally hear your frustration and that's one of the main things I'm worried about as well.
I hope you're able to come to a good size compromise and that your surgeon gives you a break on the price so you can be comfortable again :) |

Thanks for responding janegreen!
Good luck with your redo. If I didn't have this weird muscle distortion and the fear of symmastia I could handle the other negatives. 500cc implants look great! I think you would look amazing, not that you don't already! |

| I can relate, but because I always had boobs, now that I got mine(because of loss of weight), I kinda miss being smaller and wearing all those cute xs tops. However, your pics look beautiful. Good luck with whatever you decide. |

Yeah you HAVE to be prepared to handle big breasts..
I am almost 5'1 and 115... I am a 32G. I wear 34F at tightest to find bras..
My boobs are huge. I have always had huge ones, but could not imagine going from an A to a G.
I assume mine would have been 600's. |

Thanks for all your responses! I'm surprised by how many people want to go smaller.
All your compliments make me nervous to have smaller boobs, but at the same time I want all those issues I'm having with my boobs to go away. hmmm :0/
I'm so anxious to go to my appt. on the 23rd! |

| im getting a redo to go smaller too. i havent set a date but i know i will get one before too long. i had smaller implants 275 and had a redo a little over 2 yrs ago to switch to 420 sils. it was fun for a while and i have no issues with mine except i feel i look fat in clothes and they are so big they dont feel apart of me like my smaller ones did. they also feel heavy and i just want to feel comfy again kwim? my dr give me what i asked for as well, i had to beg him so i am also embarressed to see him again. oh well im sure im not the only one who has did this. good luck im whatever you choose.my dh even thinks mine are too big too. its funny how i have big breast and all i want to do is hide them. crazy isnt it? |

To the ones who are getting smaller implants that currently have over 400cc's-- What is your doctor going to do with all the extra skin and tissue? Are your getting lifts? Will there be extra scarring afterwards?
Just asking because I am getting another operation in a few months myself for some things that need fixing, and I originally wanted a large B cup, no larger than a C cup. In fact, we were so skeptical the night before about the 375cc's that he said I needed for my broad chest to achieve that, I had my husband call him the night before, and remind him about it.
I ended up with from a 36A to a 34D/DD, quite a bit bigger than a large B, small C. So I would also like to go smaller, but I just don't know how it would look now with all that extra skin !
What did YOUR doctor say? |

| I went to a Dr. in NYC today, and he said he could do a change from my 375cc's to 275cc's without getting cut. I got him off this site. So there are ways if the doctor is experienced in this. He was also going to give me overs instead of unders if I decide to use him. But I have to wait another 6 months anyway. Don't know what I want/need to do. yet. I have to think about it more. |

All those that are going smaller, please keep me informed. I am only a size 2, and find it extrememly hard to find clothes to fit my top half. A 34D/DD seems sort of too big for me. I have to get a revision anyway, so I might as well go down in size when I do that. I'm trying to gather up information, so Please give me the details your Dr. gives to ya! Thanks. |

I like being smaller. I am petite. My size looks natural and I can still wear small size clothes.
If I were worried about my breasts being too close together, I would go nuts. Symmastia is probably my biggest boobie fear.
You look great but I agree with the other girls, you should do what makes you comfortable. You shouldn't be stuck wearing a sports bra 24/7. |

hey girl
missriss- sorry to hijack your thread- i'll just answer this :)
I am happy in that they have great cleavage, they're soft etc etc but they're way too big.
I felt that way at first, and then i got over it for half a hot second but i know in my heart of hearts that they are too big for me. I am now a woman with BIG BOOBS and i wanted to be a woman with moderate, full boobs. damn. women!! can never satisfy them!
And yes, if I still feel this way in a couple of years, I will definitely down-size to about 400 cc's and probably go over the muscle.
I have way too much muscle distortion with implants this big and under-the-muscle placement. if I didn't exercise it would be ok i think but my upper body is too strong and it is already affecting the shape of my implants. boo.
but on a positive note, they're healing beautifully and I have no issues or complications for now- knock on wood.

Hey JG! You're boobs are beautiful, and you can certainly pull them off with that dynamite body of yours!!! Don't stress girl! I wish I had your body!
But I am interested in how you feel about going over the muscle? I am having my redo on Dec 1 with a Dr. in Nashville. He was referred to me my three doctors themselves, so I'll use Dr. Kim in the next decade (hopefully I won't need to redo them ever again I HOPE). But I thought going over the muscle is not good when you get older, don't they have a tendency to droop more? Just asking because a lot of doctors prefer over the muscle (if you have enough tissue), and I don't know why.
I also have a double-bubble, which really is only a muscle distortion. I don't work out but I use my upper body muscles a lot anyway picking up the baby, but especially when I blow out my naturally curly hair straight! I won't know what this doctor is going to suggest until the day before my surgery! So I may be getting overs, who knows!
I wonder why you got any muscle distortion when you didnt have any before your redo? |

Mypinnkroses- i DID have muscle distortion with my first set but since the implants were smaller, it was much less noticeable.
It seems that now with the bigger implants, EVERYTHING is amplified. I have MORE ripples and MORE distortion. the muscle and skin are stretched more thinly because the implant takes up so much more space, so it makes sense that everything would be more visible/obvious.
How i feel about overs well....i dont know. I agree with surgeons who say that unders produce a more natural result because the muscle provides a buffer for the implant and makes the transition from chest wall to breast smoother. But usually they say that about small natural breasts--because there is not enough breast tissue to make the implant feel soft.
If there IS enough breast tissue to cover the implant, some surgeons say overs are better because there is no disruption to the muscles and the recovery is easier and surgery is less invasive...
but yes overs do have to deal with faster sagging than unders, although probably not by much.
And if you don't have enough breast tissue, the outline of the implant can be quite visible on the upper half since there will be nothing covering it.
the overs/unders issue will always be up for debate i think but the bottom line, if you don't have a ton of distortion that is really annoying, it is probably better to stick with unders if you have small natural boobs.
For me, it's getting to a point where the distortion is just a real nuisance-- i can see it now when i do the slightest thing and it cuts into my boobs in 3 different places and just looks WEIRD-- that i would consider overs (even with all of the down-sides of overs for small boobs) just to get rid of that.
but i think with your issues- namely bottoming out-- you would want to stick with unders. If you go over the muscle, your risk of bottoming out increases.... so i would opt to NOT do that.
sorry-- train of thought all over the place :) |
