for divorce. I asked around for a good attorney and am meeting with her next week to file.
For those of you who've been around a while, you KNOW how I've struggled with this decision. Tried counseling. After 22 years.
Wish me luck, or something. He's going to flip when he gets the paper...

Thanks ladies! No, he doesn't KNOW it's coming and I'm NOT telling him. I'm timing it so it's after school starts for my 17 year old dd. He'll have started school by that time too. Lost his job six months ago and is going to school. He NEVER even tried to look for another job. Things have just deteriorated so badly. Even after several counseling sessions he's been texting and calling his "friend" (a woman he used to work with that is 17 years younger than him). Oh and J-mama, my son is fine. He's been back from Russia since May and is starting his senior year in college. Thanks for asking The kids won't be surprised at all, and actually might be relieved. I feel sick to the stomach

make copies of all your bank statements and anything you can get your hands on of his, credit card reciepts, copies of the phone bills with the numbers he's texting. Information is power in these situations.

Sorry to hear this, but i think you need to do what's best for you, and it sounds like what's best for your family, even if they are older kids.

When I'm going through something rough I just try to take one day at a time. That's all you really can do.

Best of luck to you Teresa, you are such a nice woman and you deserve to be happy and treated well!

Wow Teresa, I am so sorry you're going through this. Many people would hold onto a bad marriage because it's been so long. You're very brave to do this *hug*

Again thanks ladies! I really do appreciate it and DO DREAD the coming months. With that said, I cannot allow the rest of my life languish in this non existent marriage. I'm too young. My stomach has been knotted up since I called the attorney yesterday. I really do get the one day at a time thing because my mind is spinning thinking of all the repercussions. He cannot possibly be surprised, and despite all the talking and warnings, he would not change his behaviors.
