I'm getting my BA in less than two weeks (yay!! ) and I've been asked to sing the National Anthem six days after my surgery. Do any of you know the effects of new breasts and breathing capacity? There will be a PA so I won't have to really belt it if I can't. Any thoughts are appreciated! Thanks girls! |

| Today is just one week for me and I am just now feeling as if I can take a full deep breath. That could very well be an individual thing though, and I know nothing about singing other than I suck at it. |

I do remember that deep breaths weren't really that comfortable for a while since my entire chest was so tight/swollen/uncomfortable.
That said, I'm sure that with the adrenaline pumping you could do what you need to do for the time it takes to get through the National Anthem.
Good luck with both your BA and your singing! |

I think it really depends on the person. I had trouble taking deep breaths for about a 1 1/2 weeks, but it wasn't constant. I have a couple freinds who had no problems with breathing at all.
Good luck on everything . |

| hmmm.... you definitely will need to practice at home to figure out the best way to breathe. i am a singer and my breathing was still labored and i still couldnt take really deep breaths on day 6. i could've sung, but i would have had to work out a different breathing technique...just my experience! |

| I had trouble taking in deep breaths just from all of the tightness and swelling. |
