Well, I met a woman when going to my plastic surgeon's office the first time and she was having a consult with him as well. This woman and I kept in touch, though we went to different doctors. She had her BA right around the time I had mine. She got round silicone "soft touch" (I think that's what it's called) implants, partial under. She asked me if I could recommend a bra for her so I went shopping with her at Change and when she took off her bra it was very clear she was bottomed out - her nipples point up, her implants have dropped below the crease, and you can clearly see where her own tissue is sitting which is kind of on the end of the implant. How do I tell her they are bottomed out? Or should I just say nothing? She doesn't seem unhappy with them the way they are, or at least didn't say anything, and neither did I. Should I have?

Thats like telling your best friend you caught her husband cheating lol. Probably not the best thing to tell her unless you are very close and you approach in a very very sensitive manner. If it doesnt bother her...... Let us know how it goes

Personally I would want to know, and would thank any friend for pointing out something I may have not noticed. Depending on the type of person she is and the friendship you have she may or may not appreciate it.

Egads, this is a tough one. I think if she's happy with them, you don't say anything. If she asks your opinion or expresses concern about them, then I would say be honest. Otherwise, probably best not to go there.

Yikes...that's a tough one, but if she seems happy, I wouldn't say anything. IF she asks what you think, then you could tell her the truth.

From personal experience, I wouldn't say anything. You may think you are being helpful, but you most likely will cause this woman some seriously hurt feelings and stress. She may already know it herself and is trying to accept it. Never know.

I'm kinda open and tell it like it is. But I would look at it as I would want to know, but I would say it in a way that would not hurt her feelings. Maybe you can give her this site and let her read and learn more on her own. But I don't know how you would delete this message so she don't see it...lol

maybe you could find a way to bring up different complications that can result from a BA (just in general, not towards her) and she if she brings it up. does she know about this forum?

Tough one - cuz you would be surprised at how many women have no clue about any of the complications or their terminology. KWIM?

We are all well versed cuz we have this amazing website/forum and learn daily from each other. Not everyone is as pro-active as we are about our implants.

Good luck darlin'!

yikes - that really is a tough situation. On the one hand, I think I personally would want to know, but on the other, it would probably be hard to hear. I would take my cue from her: if she seems happy with them I probably wouldn't say anything. If the subject comes up or she asks you your opinion, then definitely be honest (in a kind way, of course!).

You know her best - go with your intuition. I'm sure everything will work out as it's meant to.

hmmm.... well I would say something because actually I wouldnt have noticed how bad my left one looked if I hadnt been told.... I knew it had issues but I didnt realize how bad it looked through his eyes until the words came out....

Maybe tell her about the forum and invite her to come visit???? we always circle around the same topics over and over -- bottoming out is bound to come up

I don't know if bottoming out gets progressively worse over time but I would think it does.
It sounds like you are pretty sure she is bottoming out... and you would be doing her a disservice if you didn't say something.

She is a women you met in an office.... You can do it tactfully. Tell her you are on a Breast forum with many women and you have seen many cases of bottoming out and that you feel obliged to tell her she should see her surgeon.

Show or give her this site and samples of bottoming out. I think she would be very grateful for your insight. If she isn't, you did your part.

Good luck
T

I would want to know. Maybe she can fix it without surgery. Someone told me and I remember feeling bad about it but now I am thankful. I would hate to be walking around not knowing forever.

I would want to know but I agree, it is a delicate situation. I have to confess, if I hadn't joined this board and something wasn't right, I am not sure I would even realise it.

That's tough but I would want to know. And I would be thankful that someone told me. I can see how some women would take it personally though.

well if she is happy with the way they are, I don't think id indulge it, now if your close with her or in future she expresses some thing bothers her about hers you may let her know. There are some porn stars who have bottomed out, or have CC and they are intensely happy with the way their boobs are, so no point in going there.

She has a danish website that she goes to, but there aren't as many women there as on this website and thus not as many pictures. I think I will go ahead and wait to see if there is a cue from her, a question, something to spark the conversation. I just feel badly for her, but if she is happy with them I don't know why I would. I am happy with my breasts and they clearly have flaws, too, maybe she thinks the same way about my uneven nipples as I do about her bottoming out . I sent her the link to another breast implant forum and I told her she was welcome to come to this one if she wanted to; but so far she hasn't been interested. She isn't real computer savvy, I actually set up her email account for her as she didn't know how. But maybe she will come around and get more comfy online.

In the meantime she has bought some very supportive underwire bras (balconette by Change) and, because she is more comfortable in said bras, she is going to sleep in them as well. Apparently up to this point she hasn't been sleeping in a bra at all and she asked if I did, but didn't like the idea of a sports bra. So maybe the underwire will help her. I hope so.
