When did your stitches all finally dissolve? I am 6 weeks out tomorrow and went to get my belly button re-pierced today but the piercer refused to do it with the stitches still there. It's so frustrating because the entire piercing is still open except for that bottom part. It was definitely stitched up along with the incision!

Is it going to take months for them to fall out?

they dont fall out- they dissolve...and yes, it can take months. Is your bellybutton really all the way closed up? have you tried pushing your ring through it?

Wait it out a while longer- i am sure if you ask Dr. Kim to remove them for you at your next post-op, he will do it if your incision is totally closed.

Yes the bottom part is closed up and I can't push it through.....

I'll have Dr. Kim take them out because the incision is definitely closed at this point. The piercer told me the bottom part of my piercing was definitely sewed up with my incision after looking closely at my belly button and didn't want to put another cut into it yet.

small price to pay for no scars! just get Dr. Kim to cut them out for you and you'll be good to go.
