Posted - 10/20/2009 : 14:53:06 No. Just because it kinda goes against how I was raised...also I am not very comfortable with my body, and would not want the world seeing me naked, lol. AND, it would be AWKWARD if my family ever found out. Plus, the career repercussions. I just think the cons outweigh the pros. |

Yes, IF...
I had the body for it it was a tasteful shot (boobs, yes - full frontal, no) my husband was okay with it
I wouldn't be worried about my family seeing it, I'd give them warning so if they didn't want to see it they could just not look. I don't think anyone would be embarassed, my mom posed nude quite often at the college in her younger years for the painting students and I am sure she would have posed for playboy back in the day.
Also, here it isn't career suicide or anything even close to it, considering the mayor of this little part of Copenhagen used to be in the porn industry (movies). No one really seems bothered by it or makes a big deal out of it.
I think the US is different to Denmark (and the rest of Europe). In a lot of ways the US struggles with the contradiction of having a huge and very rich porn industry (and home of Playboy) alongside a sometimes VERY conservative public...hence the uproar and front page news when Janet Jackson's boob escaped. I think America finds the two difficult to mix i.e porn in a porn field v porn/nudity in a non sexual arena.
edited to add....sorry Betty I realise you are explaining why it wouldn't be a problem for you in your country...duh
Oh no worries hon I didn't take it as anything bad what you were saying. I get why for some women in some countries it would be career suicide - just wouldn't be here so for me, that's not even entered into the picture . Still, don't have the figure for it, and maybe my shyness would get the best of me, teehee |

My thoughts exactly.
I think it my mom was a cover girl back in the day I'd be proud as hell of her.
Now being that I have 2 young children I wouldn't. I would never want my dd's teachers, friends parents etc seeing my naked. |

Posted - 10/14/2009 : 09:19:06 Conservatives consist of only roughly half the people here - and they tend to crow the loudest, having people overseas fooled into believing it's the entire population. On the flipside, there are jokes here about Sweden being so sex-saturated that they serve vibrators as favors at all of their parties, and that British women are always freaks in the bedroom - I would be embarrassed if every American who heard that actually believed it.
The uproar about the Janet Jackson issue was due to many suspecting it was coy and purposeful - because of the lyrical timing, and not to mention the ready placement of that ridiculous star. It came across to many as phony. Her entire breast wasn't even exposed anyway. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtiZdrJvZt4&feature=related

All anyone has to do is listen to our radio where profanity well beyond "damn" very often isn't bleeped from song lyrics, and watch the sex-saturated non-cable (i.e., public) television here, where a program is considered backward if teen sex, extramarital sex, bisexuality, and/or homosexuality isn't a consistent part of the storyline (e.g., "7th Heaven" never got any respect lol). We may not have our "Girls Gone Wild" infomercials on during the day, but they're available to any male who wants to take a nosedive. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4e_bRU7rOk Prostitution is legal in Nevada & Rhode Island. In the U.K., it's legal ... so long as the public isn't exposed to any evidence of it, ever.
Pornography from spank cable TV to magazines is everywhere here. If one is starved for sex delivered with an ultra-casual attitude, the U.S. won't have them leaving hungry - and on the contrary, the majority of people here don't care what others are up to. Even Republicans like me. |

Posted - 10/14/2009 : 08:59:39 I personally think my body is for my DH ONLY. I also don;'t want my nephew or DS to see it somehow. Also can you imagine how humiliating it would be if his friends would say "hey i saw your mom naked"? I wonder if the girls that do it ever regret it and are ashamed when they get a little bit older. |
