About your consultation
In your breast augmentation consultation you need to gather much information so that you can make informed decisions for your surgery. In order to help you made the decisions, Dr. Rodriguez examines and evaluates your breasts for the following:
1) amount of existing breast tissue (are your breasts full or empty)
2) position of your inframammary fold
3) symmetry of your existing breasts
4) amount of ptosis or sagging of your existing breast
5) measurement of the ‘ base of the breast’
In your consultation you will have the opportunity to ‘try on’ different sizes of implants. Upon examination, Dr. Rodriguez will explain his findings and presents a proposed surgical plan to address each of the seven decisions. When you come back to the office for your pre-operative appointment, you make the final decision on each of the seven factors. To help you decide on implant size, most patients bring at least two different types of shirts (button down and tank top) to the pre-operative appointment so they can more accurately pick a size.
