Dr. Mustoe received both his college and medical degrees from Harvard University with honors. He completed his otolaryngology and plastic surgery residencies at Harvard teaching hospitals (Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and Brigham and Women's Hospitals). He has coauthored more than 200 articles and book chapters, and lectured nationally and internationally on subjects of facial cosmetic and breast surgery, techniques of aesthetic surgery and abdominoplasty.

Northwestern Plastic Surgery (NPS) is a group of Chicago Plastic surgeons located in Chicago dedicated to clinical and academic excellence. We are affiliated with an outstanding medical school, Northwestern University. It is a common misconception that academic plastic surgeons only treat complex reconstructive problems. Our Chicago based practice is dedicated to cutting edge cosmetic (aesthetic) surgery, with special interest in facial and breast surgery. In addition, NPS has an internationally renowned laboratory, investigating wound healing, scar prevention, and treatment. Aesthetic Surgery is more than one operation for one issue; it should be individualized for each patient. We believe in comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative evaluation.
