Contrary to what most people think, size is not the only factor to consider when choosing a breast implant. The goal of breast surgery is to enhance rather than overwhelm the rest of your body. Many factors must be considered, so your surgeon will examine you to determine your current breast shape, volume and width, chest width, nipple position, presence of sagging, asymmetry, and overall proportions. A range of implants will be recommended based on your exam and the look you want to achieve. You will even have the opportunity to “test-drive” the implants by placing various implant sizers in a bra to give you a better idea of how you may look in clothes after surgery.
